Simple Vintage Farmhouse Bedroom

I love changing up the rooms in my house and when I get an idea, I love seeing it come together. If y’all have read my posts before, then you know I don’t like to spend a lot of money on my home decor. So I really have to get creative and do a lot of things on my own.

When I decided to redo my bedroom, I decided I wanted a vintage, farmhouse style. I had already painted my furniture and was ready to put everything else together.

Now this is nothing fancy, but it’s simple and pretty and really all I wanted.

I started with hanging curtains, except they are curtains!! I used white twin flat sheets from Walmart. They were only $5.00!

You cannot get any cheaper than that!! I have 3 windows in my room so the total cost for curtains was $15.00!!

Once I hung those, I started decorating the shelf above my bed. I don’t have a headband so I definitely needed something on the wall above my bed. I took pictures from a trip Jacob and I went on and printed them on white card stock in black and white. After I printed them, I tore the canvas off a Dollar Tree canvas, stained the frames, and glued the card stock to the frame. I already had the stain and the canvases were a total of $3.00. Then I hot glued a piece of white material to the back so I could hang them. The other things I have on this shelf are things I already had in my home decor tote.

I added a ladder to the wall and decorated my roll top desk. These were all items I already had, so I didn’t have to buy anything for this area.

Now let me show you my FAVORITE!! My antique washstand! I LOVED how this turned out! I decorated this with a runner (that I made), a wooden black box, some old books, some floral, and a candle holder. I didn’t have to buy anything for this corner!

I really like how this wall turned out too! This wooden ironing board belonged to my grandmother and I think it goes really good with the theme.

Once everything was hung and decorated, I put together my bed. Now let me tell y’all, I LOVE throw pillows, BUT I don’t buy a lot because they aren’t cheap, so I don’t have but a couple on my bed. You could definitely dress your bed up by adding more pillows! So this is pretty simple and plain, but it worked for me. The bedspread came from Amazon for $60.00 and the throw pillows I had, but the ticking stripe pillow covers are new and they came from Hobby Lobby for $5.00 each.

It’s really very simple, but it’s all I needed and all I really wanted! It was also very inexpensive to change up!

It doesn’t have to cost much to create a bedroom that you want! You just have to get a little creative!
