Pumpkin Patch Frame
There is just something to be said about handmade gifts. Especially when you know the people you are giving them to will appreciate them the most.
My baby cousin, the youngest of 12 grandchildren, is having a baby in this crazy year of 2020. She is special to us all and because she lives in Florida, we rarely get to see her. She flew in for her baby shower this past weekend and one of her gifts from her parents was a box of firsts. First Halloween, First Thanksgiving, First Christmas, First Valentines…..you get the point. Such a great idea for a shower gift!!
My cousin is one of those people who appreciates handmade gifts. When my aunt asked me if I would make her a cute picture frame for her Halloween/Fall gift for her shower, of course I said YES! I love to make crafts like that!!
Aunt Vicky already had this super cute frame, but we knew it needed more.
She also had a pretty good idea of how she wanted it to look. We first decided to take off the bow. Then, we decided to take off the metal clip, because that wasn’t what she wanted to use to hang the picture.
After we took those off, we gathered scrapes of ribbon and some raffia to make a re-fabbed bow and replaced the metal clip with a small wooden clothes pin.
These bows are so fun to make!!! If you all don’t follow Brooke Riley with re-fabbed, y’all are definitely missing out! So pick out all the ribbon you want to use in your bow. You can use all different sizes, and colors.
Because this was going to be for Vicky’s grand baby, she wanted the bottom of the frame to say “Cutest pumpkin in the patch”, because she’s definitely going to be just that! I didn’t want to use stencilS for the letters, so I pulled out the old cricut expression and some vinyl and cut out the letters in black and orange.
Now, sometimes I just don’t listen well when people tell me to take all the notes, so I have no idea what size I cut the letters and I’m not sure which cartridges I used, but it’s all good, because any font will do!
This frame turned out to be ADORABLE!! My cousin loved it and Vicky did too!! It’s the special gifts that make a person smile.
This was such an easy and quick craft to make and is the perfect gift for a baby shower!
