Let’s Create a Patriotic Coffee Bar

In February of 2020, my oldest nephew joined the Marines. He headed off to Paris Island for boot camp and was scheduled to come home in May. My sister decided to do some decorating in honor of her Marine. We knew there was a chance that he wouldn’t get to come home due to COVID, but she still wanted to do something in his honor.

She started with her coffee bar. It looked so cute I wanted to share it with y’all for some inspiration.

Like me, my sister LOVES her coffee bar! We are always sending progress pictures to each other when we decorate ours, but this time I got to help her decorate hers.

Tracy (my sister) had already gotten a head start on crafting some wood blocks. This is such a cheap and easy way to decorate. A little paint, some mod podge, scrapbook paper of your choice, and a wood block and that’s all you need!

These turned out SO CUTE!! She added a little jute to the top block for some texture, which was a cute idea too.

These wood blocks were a set we got from Gabe’s Store. If y’all have never been to a Gabes, you need to GO!! That store is one of my favorites and they have the best deals!

After adding a few things red, white, and blue, we filled this shelf in with other items she already had in her decorations. We like to keep some neutral decor so we don’t overdo it on seasonal/holiday decor. I believe you can do too much, but of course it’s all in what you like and what makes you happy!

After we finished the shelf, we added a piece of ticking stripe fabric as a runner for her bar. All we did was cut the fabric to the size we wanted and frayed all the sides. This is a really inexpensive way to add a runner and they look really cute! And who doesn’t like ticking stripe???

When that was done, we decorated her tired tray and the rest of her coffee bar.

My FAVORITE thing about this coffee bar was that cute wire basket! The wooden stars with the antique pot look so good! Everything was turning out really cute for her Patriotic Coffee Bar!

To finish it up, Tracy added a few things to her wire baskets, a fabric garland (that she made), and some red coffee mugs.

SO CUTE!!! Tracy added just the right amount of patriotic decorations without going overboard and I think her COFFEE BAR turned out super cute!!

Tracy left her PATRIOTIC COFFEE BAR up from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Such a great idea!
